A personal description of my experiences of the 2009 Freedom Challenge
The Race Across South Africa (RASA) is part of the Freedom Challenge. This is a 2300km race between Pietermaritzburg and Cape Town held every year in June. It is a non-stop, unsupported race with 26 support stations where you can get food and a bed for the night.
I started on 15 June 2009 and finished in 21 days 13 hours on 5 July. This blog covers the preparation for the race as well as day by day reports from the race.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteDoug, you are half way home! Only a few more days of rain, cold temps, hail, mud, aches, pains and all this fun. Your stories are inspirational and will bring you years and years of joy. You are the best!
Note to Aileen: beside every great man is a great woman. Doug is a lucky man!!!
